I believe that the solution to the abortion issue is deceptively simple. Most unwanted pregnancies, which are subsequently aborted, are a result of either fornication (sex between two unmarried partners) or adultery (sex outside of marriage where one or both partners involved are married to someone else). The law of Moses states that such sexual encounters are a death penalty offense. If we simply reinstate the death penalty for fornication and adultery we would eliminate virtually all potential abortions. Then again I would have been executed and 23 which I do not find as such a positive solution to the problem. No pregnancy resulted, by the way.
Perhaps a more practical, and popular, approach for the Christian Church to take would be to offer prenatal care for mothers who would otherwise wish an abortion and homes of the resulting children. If we are unwilling to take steps to punish the guilty in these situations perhaps we should display a willingness to take care of the innocent.
