We are a short sighted culture. If it will not happen tomorrow we tend to not care. Thomas Paine, in his pamphlet, “Common Sense”, during the American Revolution sighted the farmer standing on his porch with his infant son in his arms and declaring, “I want peace for my time.” Implying that the child would be left to do the fighting in his time. His kind are not all dead yet.
We need to prepare the generation being born now to face the spiritual trials that will inevitably come. We all so owe it to our children and our grand-children to do all in our power to prevent or mitigate the trials to come. By our example of sacrifice for the world around us, in imitation of Jesus sacrifice for us, and our faith that it is only by the power of his precious Blood that we can possibly succeed, let us go forward to prepare this generation in the hope that what they face will be no greater a test than we have endured ourselves.]]>
