Why would a good and loving God send people to Hell? He does not send people to hell they go of their own free will. God will not drag you kicking and screaming into heaven if you do not want to go. The Holy Spirit is working constantly in everyone’s heart to turn them to God. He is trying to convince us of the truth that, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.. He did love us so much that with all the power of the universe at his disposal he stood helplessly by and allowed us to murder his Son whom he loved and was eternally connected to. For our sake he endured, from both sides, the pain of that bond being severed. We sever our personal bond with him each time we choose our will over his. He permits us to claim the shed Blood of Jesus to wash that sin away and reestablish that bond. Only to have us sever it again and again.
The pain the world has endured as a result of our pride and disobedience is trivial compared to the pain that God endures from moment to moment on our behalf. Eternally Jesus hangs on that cross and endures, FOR US, that pain of separation. What was six hours of torture on our temporal plain will never cease on the eternal plain until the end of the age.
Six million of his Jewish brothers and sisters died in the Holocaust along with the hundreds of millions who have died in all the holocausts since the world began, and he bore the pain of all of them. It was and is the only way that any of us might survive. Were he not good and God life on this temporal plain would and could not exist.
